Today Iraq is going through very important times, the parliament just
passed an agreement with the United States that will give Iraq total
sovereignty and we have important elections coming up early next year
and it is only appropriate that we end the year with Destination Baghdad
EXPO and Conference at the new Baghdad International Airport Convention
Center planned for December 15th – 17th. This event was originally
scheduled for April 2004 but security concerned prevented the event from
taking place. Today we can say with confidence that security is fine and
we can look forward to the future with optimism and hope.
The private sector in Iraq and foreign investment are the engines for
growth and job creation, most developed countries create over 80% of
jobs from the private sector, Iraq is blessed with the most important
natural resource "OIL", however as important as oil and gas are, they
will never create enough jobs to overcome the chronic unemployment in
iraq.
DBX EXPO and Conference and other like events are opportunities to kick
start the local economy, tradeshows bring thousands of buyers and
sellers together in one place in a short period of time to exchange
business opportunities and we are proud to organize such events.
DBX EXPO and Conference will bring together over 300 local, national and
international companies together and our approached has always been to
involve the Iraqi government and create cooperation and understanding
between the private and public sector, some 14 Iraqi ministries, many
national business federations, chambers of commerce, professional unions
and NGO's are participating free of charge as our way to say of saying
we appreciate your work and they are all involved in developing a better
future for Iraq.
DBX Conference has over 40 sessions covering all areas related to
business, please make sure you attend as many sessions as you can and
always make sure you tell us what you think, your input is our only
means to improve.
For 2009, we will announce several tradeshows related to construction,
renewable energy and agriculture and any ideas you have please make sure
we hear from you.
